A climate change talk with Howard Lyman
Howard will address how large-scale animal agriculture has become the world’s leading driver of climate change. “As a fourth-generation family farmer in Montana for almost 40 years, I speak from a background of personal experience when I say that chemically based agricultural production methods today are unsustainable, and therefore ecologically disastrous."
Howard, former Montana cattle rancher, is a world-renowned public speaker, author, and animal advocate. He is also the founder of Voice for a Viable Future and the subject of two documentary films, Mad Cowboy and Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home. He co-authored the books Mad Cowboy (1998) and No More Bull (2005) and is a former president of EarthSave. Howard also features in Franny Armstrong’s 2005 documentary McLibel, in Marianne Thieme’s 2007 documentary Meat The Truth, and in Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn’s 2014 documentary Cowspiracy. He was also featured on the 2011 documentary Vegucated. Howard was awarded the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award in 1997.
