Drop by for a guided tour of Whidbey Watershed Stewards' facility, the Outdoor Classroom in Maxwelton Valley. Later, if you feel up to it, join our work party get our trails ready for our spring programs. Snacks will be provided. Bring gloves, boots and a water-bottle if you intend to join our work party.
You don’t need to sign up ahead of time to attend any of these beach cleanups. But, if this is your first beach cleanup with us or you would like to be notified of changes or cancellations, please contact Stinger a couple of days in advance of the event.

On Saturday, April 29, from 11am- 2pm, the event begins with a thirty-minute presentation on the history of Admiralty Head Lighthouse and area, and the effects of litter on the marine environment. Then it's clean up time! Bags and disposal provided.

Join NW Straits Foundation to work with kids from South Whidbey Academy that are planning a whole day of activities at Deception Pass State Park. They will assist with planting at Cornet Bay, and will be starting around 9:30am. Please join in and bring work gloves!

Join the folks from Deception Pass State Park on April 22nd to lend a hand in an Earth Day Service Project! From 10am to 12pm, help remove invasive dune grass at the Deception Pass West Beach.
Afterwards, stick around West Beach for the Junior Ranger program from 12:30pm - 2pm, with kids' activities and a special appearance by Gracie the Gray Whale skull.

Learn techniques for getting rid of Scotch broom, Himalayan blackberry, and other invasive weeds using weed wrenches and other tools while beautifying the property in front of the Bayview Recycle Center.
A short class with samples of other noxious weeds found on Whidbey Island will be presented prior to the work party.
Parking is available along Kramer Road just south of the Recycle Center.
