A Plastic Ocean

  • Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island (map)

In the center of the Pacific Ocean lives the Great Garbage Patch where researchers found more plastic than plankton. This award winning film documents its discovery and others, the impacts of plastics on marine life and human health and the efforts at cleaning it up. As plastics enter the food chain they soak up toxins. These toxins are stored in our seafood’s fatty tissues and eventually effect us.  This is a local and international concern.  After the film we’ll talk about solutions large and small moving forward right now to fix this near and far

No cost. Donations Appreciated
